ms gs wavetable synth

Post by Stefan » Tue May 17, 2011 7:43 pm

Hi everybody, I was wondering, and have been searching but have not found a solution yet, as many of you know ms gs wavetable synth is just horrible and I was looking for a way to get ETC or Earmaster Pro to use a different Synth as their soundbank. Would anyone here know how to do such a task?

Thanks

yeah

download Finale Songwriter (demo will suffice here)

download and install MIDI Yoke

for ETC you're gonna need something to change the default MIDI device on windows (unless you're using XP)

the link is here:

http://akkordwechsel.de/15-windows-vist ... di-mapper/

pretty simple to figure out.

now before you run ETC, do the following:

set default MIDI device to MIDI Yoke 1 using the little MIDI-Mapper program i showed you.

open Finale

make sure MIDI in is set to MIDI Yoke 1

keep Finale open

open ETC

if all goes according to plan, then ETC will play with Finale's piano SF instead of GM! for ear master, all you will need to do is select the default MIDI device (MIDI Yoke 1) from within the program. that 'll give you a better piano sound.

head over to the prolobe forum if you haven't already. there's a new ET app called AP Dictator. great stuff.

you can also use Finale Songwriter to play other "soundfonts" if you want (as they're called)
