Wondering what it is I am listening for here Chris??? It feels like its kind of a high and low note judgement going on and the notes in the middle are very ambiguous. The category change seems very vague.
I am only up to level two though. Does the game get narrower as you go up levels? I mean does it centre more around the category change over or does it keep using the same amount of outlying notes as in level one. What is levelling up as you go?

I will keep playing and see what occurs to my ear.

I think the answer you're looking for is on the main page.

And yes. Level One has two categories that span the middle octave; each successive level splits a category in half, 'til there are 12.
