I personally mapped out the relationships today and I got this: (this guy has totally different colors and his math is off I guess) C - harlequin (green) Db - cyan/aqua D - deep sky blue Eb - blue E - electric indigo F - dark violet F# - free speech red G - red G# - red A - dark orange A# - yellow B...

I've had sensations recently where I'm not aware of the music going "up and down", but instead hearing harmonic sounds. I got this feeling when I was doing beta testing on note boat in an early version. It was before Chris decided to delineate octaves visually. The best way I would describe it is l...

What about metal objects? They all have an inherent pitch don't they? Maybe that could be a link. It would probably have to be standardized objects like coins, and the concept would then be formed of a quarter sound, a nickel sound, etc. To provide an anecdote: My janitor in high school was a coin j...

average pitch height

Hey whatever happened with that 'average pitch height' thing that Gavriel was exploring? It was pretty interesting.

la-based minor solfege is interesting because of the way it 'connects' to the do-based scale, and the 2 are so often battling for dominance in a song, even co-existing sometimes. It would give each note 2 functions with the same name, emphasizing the duality. One problem with the 'do'-based minor......

Space, do you have any tips to get the very low notes in Prolobe? I suck at them.

Sound logos

The closest thing for a function of pitch...sound logos! It's the acoustic equivalent of a visual logo.

NBC = D/B\G
T-MOBILE = CCCEC (with g under the first note)

I like the idea. Perhaps the best implementation would be to match "a" with "a" and "b" with "b" etc. so the correct labels are linked up. Then there could be a game that would play only words made out of the note labels, like "cabbage", and you would type in the word. I'm not sure how many words yo...

Magenta is not a color
